Be Thankful

Let’s be thankful for all that we have. You may have heard this before. Will you make a list of three things you are thankful for? Now take a moment to think of all the things that we complain about.  Perhaps you complained about not having enough money. Maybe you complained about your spouse or significant other.  The list could grow as we think of things that dissatisfy us. It is human nature to complain about things that we have, once had and even the things to come. Why do we do this? Put plainly, we complain way more than we should.

Recently life events have prompted me to be more thankful. Especially for the life that I have. My life is by no definition perfect but it is productive. Do I strive to make it better?  I certainly do. In the same instance, life is good for me. I have a family, freedom and a good sense of self. I may not have all that I want, but all the things that I need are available to me.

At times we complicate life and fail to notice the simplicity of life. Take time today to be thankful for what you have and who you are. What is important to you? Do you have those things?  Please note, I am not referring to material things. Are you the person that you desire to be?
